Safely Dispose of Your Household Hazardous Waste – Make Yours A Healthy Home
I oversaw the creation of this video to promote Denver’s Household Hazardous Waste Collection Program and provide residents with instructions on how to participate. I personally wrote the script and designed the storyboard for this video. The City’s in-house production team filmed and edited the video, which was shot at my house. I also provided a canine actor at the end of the video, my dog Otis. This video was aired on Denver’s Public Access Channel (Channel 8), social media, and is currently used on Denver Recycles’s HHW webpage.
The Recycle Cycle
I commissioned this promotional video to increase awareness of the Denver Recycles program among residents and to serve as an educational resource for schools. I wrote the video script, cast the video talent, and collaborated closely with the City’s in-house production team (Channel 8) to produce and broadcast the video.
Public Service Announcements (PSAs)
ReThink Recycling: Easier Than Ever
This PSA announced the changeover to single-stream recycling for residents in Denver. I provided the scripting and storyboarding for this ad and coordinated all the props used in the PSA. I also created the concept of the purple exclamation mark to visually draw the viewer’s attention. The City’s in-house production team produced this video, which featured Denver’s mayor at the time, John Hickenlooper.
Make A Tree Happy
I collaborated with Group 5 Advertising to produce a public service announcement (PSA) called “Make A Tree Happy”. The PSA promoted office paper recycling programs in Gainesville, Florida. I was responsible for developing the ad’s script and storyboard and oversaw the creation of the tree costume. During production, I ensured that the messaging was accurate. To reach our target audience, we purchased paid ads with a local television station and aired them primarily during the evening news.
Be Part Of The Winning Team
This was another PSA developed to promote Gainesville’s Office Recycling Program. It was intended to use humor in an upbeat and energetic team concept. Mick Hubert, legendary Gator sports announcer, provided the narration. I produced the script for this PSA and was on set to oversee the filming of each component. As a paid advertisement for recycling, it aired on the local television stations.
Radio Ads
Make Yours A Healthy Home
This radio advertisement was designed to encourage people to participate in the Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) program of Denver Recycles. The ad was part of a broader outreach campaign called “Make Yours a Healthy Home.” I wrote the script and timed it out, while the radio station produced and voiced the ad. The ad was aired during Colorado Rockies baseball games, and each broadcast resulted in a noticeable increase in HHW appointments.
Recycle Your Holiday Lights
I scripted this short radio ad to help announce the launching of Denver Recycles’ first year of the “Recycle Your Holiday Lights” program in 2017. The radio station supplied the voice talent and produced the ad for airing.
